Usage Instructions

  • You can identify your Jaw Guards by their colour.
    The blue Jaw Guard is for your left ear, and the red Jaw Guard is for your right ear.
  • In order to fit your device, hold the outer edge of the insert, with the right insert in the right hand. Ensure the device is orientated correctly, so the extraction cord is at the bottom.
  • Gently insert the Jaw Guard into your ear canal while keeping the extraction cord at the bottom, then carefully push the ear insert into place with your fingertip. Sometimes pulling your ear back while wiggling the device as you push it into your ear can help.
  • To fit your left Jaw Guard, repeat the process by holding your left device in your left hand, ensuring that the device has the extraction cord at the bottom. Gently insert the device into your ear canal. Remember to keep the cord at the bottom and carefully push the device into your ear with your fingertip.
  • To remove the device, take hold of the extraction cord, and gently pull outwards until the insert is out of your ear.
  • To help maintain your Jaw Guard inserts, clean them daily with the brush provided. Please check and brush away any debris in the hollow of the inserts.

How to fit JawGuard ear inserts

Step 1

Identify the left and right ear inserts by their colour codes.

Blue = Left
Red = Right

Step 2

Hold the outer edges of the insert, with the right insert in the right hand, or left insert in the left hand.

Step 3

Ensure the insert is orientated correctly, so the extraction cord is at the bottom.

Step 4

Gently insert the JawGuard insert canal tip into your ear canal while keeping the extraction cord at the bottom.

Step 5

Carefully push the ear insert into place with your fingertip until fully seated.

How to check it is fitted properly

The extraction cord should be present, sticking out at the bottom part of the ear canal.

The device should be completely inserted into the ear canal and not loose or protruding. The outer edge should be flush with the entry to the ear canal.

Tip: Sometimes, pulling your ear back while wiggling the insert as you push it into your ear can help.

How often should they be used

We recommend that you gradually increase the use of the inserts during the daytime over 1-2 weeks until your ears become used to the inserts.

You may want to start by wearing the inserts for 2-3 hours per day initially, and gradually build up the use over this period.

You can wear the devices both in the day and night time continuously for up to 22 hours a day, removing them each day for 2 hours.

We recommend you remove the ear inserts prior to taking showers, playing sports or swimming.
